Approval is easy and only takes about 15 minutes to complete the application and submit your documents. For the average person required documents include 2 W2s, 2 pay stubs, 2 bank statements and a drivers license.

This step is very important because you will know exactly your price range, monthly payments and down payment.

The best thing about getting a real approval before you go house hunting is that you will have a competitive advantage. If you were selling a home, wouldn't you rather accept an offer from someone already approved than just pre-approved?

Contact A Great Realtor

You can choose any Realtor that you want. But beware not all Realtors are equal. You may want to interview several agents to find the one that is going to work best for you. Yes, they are working for you and should only have your best interest in everything they do for you.

We will be happy to give you a list of Realtors that are professional, knowledgeable and have the highest integrity that will focus on your best interest. And shouldn't that be the way it is, this is a major investment for you and your family.

This is the fun part, looking for your dream home. You have a dream of what you want and made your must haves and wish lists, now it's time to make it happen.

Your real estate agent or you (there are tons of listings online) will find homes for you to see. When you find that dream home your agent will submit your offer to the seller. When the offer is accepted a contract will be completed and sent to Team Lacey Mortgage where it will be immediately processed and submitted to underwriting.

Appraisal

A home appraisal is done by an unbiased third party that sets the value of the home you want to purchase. This is required by all mortgage lenders to ensure that the loan is substantiated by the house value.

The appraiser will determine the value of the home based on the condition of the home, location and comps in the neighborhood.

Once the appraisal is completed and the amount of the loan is equal or less than the value of the home, the closing can commence.

STEP 6

You're almost there! The close is where you will sign all the state and mortgage company required documents and pay the closing costs.

The documents will be signed either at a lawyer's office or a title company. Besides explaining and having you sign documents the title company's responsibility is to verify that the property you are purchasing is free for you to purchase. The title company is working for you, so you can choose any title company you want.
